Fighting for David

 Ode to a Brother
By Bill McRae

 To David With Love
By A Wounded Soldier - Forest Langley

He was strong as an ox,
He had a personality of his own,
He never complained or groaned about anything -
He just loved life all together.

Always pulling jokes
But helping the old folks;
He was stubborn as a mule,
Things had to be his own way;
Till that tragic day.

A mess you may say...
but he wanted to ride a stupid motor cycle
and "glide with the wind",
- sail like a bird -
Till that tragic day.

The bird broke its wing,
The wind died down,
The man who was almost perfect wrecked,
He is in the hospital three months later.
He is waiting to come out of a coma.

He is so bad he can't even say momma.
Whom he loved dearly, and so do I,
He is so bad he can't ......
go to the restroom
tie his own shoes
can's even sit up without someone holding him
or even brush his teeth.

All of this strongness, personality,
Lovingness for life; the jokes,
and helping the old folks,
Could all be taken away from him.

Why do I love his person so?
This person is my brother
He made me who and what I am today.
That is why I love him so.

And from now on I will be here for him every day

........ I LOVE YOU, DAVE ..........

Leone Nunley you know tis true
David with all his heart loves you
Your son knows and understands
More than others can comprehend

His is God's special blessed project
His love for you and David defies logic
All the powerful emotions you share
Gifts from TBI with love in His care.

Day of the accident your heart did break
As you fell apart your nerves did shake
When you thought you couldn't take anymore
That's when love appeared from heavens shore.

What a Blessed Warrior Princess that you had to be
When your son took one look at you it set him free
Your hearts are bound together for all eternity.

We go though the heartbreaks so others we teach
And through traumatic experiences others we reach
O praise God for David he has come so so far
And more precious to the Lord than Sun, Moon, Star

When it all just gets too much for you
Call on the Lord, One who is True
He can lift the burden, help to share
Teach you peace and love beyond compare.
